Synopsis
When nineteen-year-old
huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to
demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows
about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but
Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his
estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery
passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the
beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over
the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and
his world—forever.

Personal Experience with This Book
I decided to
read this book because when I saw that was among the favourite readings of many
Booktubers I watch I felt it was the time to read it. I had been putting it off
because I hate waiting for other books in a series to be released. I do not
like it and that is why did not want to read this book this soon but I felt it
was calling me.
The story is
extremely beautiful. I loved the way it is written. SJM’s writing style is
amazing. I have no bad things to say about it. This woman has a fantastic way
to describe her world. I love the way she wrote this story. Also putting
together the world of the story of Beauty and the Beast and the world of
fairies is just wonderful.
Feyre is a
character who has many good things but also has some bad things. The girl is
not perfect and that makes her more human. Feyre has grown in a very difficult environment
and has endured many responsibilities that a child should not had. Her family
situation is not the best and her sisters and her father do not help her so
much in the house so, she has to practically take all the responsibility taking
caring for her family.
Tamlin is the
most beautiful little thing I have read in the world. Really, I fell in love
deeply with this character. I would have done anything for him. His love for Feyre
is so great and so beautiful. He wants to protect her by any means from
everything bad that could happen to her. The romance between the two builds to
a very good pace, not too fast nor slow, which I enjoyed.
Of the secondary
characters, I must say that the one I liked the most was Lucien. He is not only
intriguing but also has that hint of malice that I personally like very much.
Rhys cause me trouble, because I know how the situation might turned into in
the next book and I do not like it. He will be a huge problem for me. I just
hope I am wrong and that SJM think well what to do with this character in the
future.
This book
contains everything I wanted to see on a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Each
element was well thought out so, that you could see the resemblance, from the
magic of the world to the curse roses. The only thing we had in this story that
is somewhat different from the original is that Feyre cannot read – and Bella
loves reading. However, we see her love for painting, which can be count as
something equally characteristic of the character. I loved every word of this
book. I gave it a 4.7 for one simple reason, the ending left me worried.
I recommend this
book to the people who love Beauty and the Beast. People whom like Throne of
Glass, because the story has a lot of that fairy world is so fond of SJM. Above
all, who like stories that have not only romance, but also action, adventure
and some sexual content - which is not much, but it is present.
